Athletic Training Outreach Program Philosophy
The philosophy of the Idaho Orthopaedic Athletic Training Outreach Program is to provide quality care to the athletes of local high schools that do not employ athletic trainers. While the program is basically a consultation service for sports coaches on injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation, we also hold education of the athlete, parent, coach , and administrator to be paramount. The outreach program is dedicated to the health of the athlete, and will not discriminate based on sex, race, sport or athletic ability.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Outreach Program is to serve as a sports medicine resource and to provide athletic training services to communities throughout Southeastern Idaho. Resource services include education of sport injury prevention, sport injury recognition, sport injury care, sport injury rehabilitation and assistance in obtaining referrals to orthopedic specialists. Sports medicine services include providing support activities and athletic training coverage for area high schools, Idaho State University and community sporting events.
